Collaboration

The Faculty of Geography and Earth Sciences, within the organisation of study process and research, is collaborating with other faculties and institutes of the University of Latvia, e.g. the Faculty of Biology, Faculty of Chemistry, Faculty of Physics, Mathematics and Optometry, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Business, Management and Economics, as well as the Institute of Biology and other higher education institutions, e.g. Riga Technical University, Daugavpils University, University of Rēzekne, and the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies.

Within the scale of Latvia, collaboration takes place with governmental institutions, for example, The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development, The Ministry of Agriculture, State Ltd "Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre", as well as some private companies, such as SIA "Venteko", SIA "Geokonsultants", etc.

Nowadays, studies and scientific research are not possible without close collaboration with foreign higher education institutions and specialists.

The Faculty of Geography and Earth Sciences is collaborating with the Lund University (Sweden), University of Gothenburg (Sweden), Uppsala University (Sweden), University of Tartu (Estonia), The Estonian University of Life Sciences (Estonia), Tallinn University of Technology (Estonia), Vilnius University (Lithuania), University of Helsinki (Finland), University of Warsaw (Poland), St. Petersburg University (Russia), and other higher education institutions.
